I think we are all interested to know who our next president will be. In the meantime, here are some things we DO know!
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
We are having online Parent Teacher Conferences from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, and from 1:30 to 3:30 PM on Friday, November 13.
To sign up for conferences:
- Click on the link below.
- Scroll through to find the day and time you would like to meet and the teachers you would like to meet with.
- Click sign in for every teacher you would like to meet with.
- Follow the directions.
- BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS so that teachers can email you the Google Meets link you will use to meet with them.
- Teachers will email you a google meet code before your conference; check your email prior to the conference date.
- Keep in mind: Signup Genius only registers you for a meeting; the meeting itself will happen virtually on Google Meets.
- To accommodate as many families as possible each conference will be no longer than 10 minutes.
If all of the slots fill up please know that you can always email teachers with any concerns or questions. Teacher email addresses are in powerschool and under the staff tab on our website: bridgeacademy.org. They all follow the same formula: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you at conferences!
Our photographer will be here on Monday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 10, to take school pictures.
On these days the photographer will stay until 2:30 so that distance learners can come to school after 1:15 to have their picture taken.
All in-person students will have their picture taken, regardless of whether or not they purchase a package.
The flier for picture packages is attached to this email.
We are hosting a Book Club for parents, students and staff. We will be reading the young adult version of the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. This book is a memoir detailing the author’s work as a lawyer for inmates on death row. The New York Times said this about Just Mercy: “The message of this book, hammered home by dramatic examples of one man’s refusal to sit quietly and countenance horror, is that evil can be overcome, a difference can be made. Just Mercy will make you upset and it will make you hopeful.”
We will discuss the book at a virtual community meeting on Monday, January 4, at 6:00 PM.
Please let me know if you and your child are interested in participating in the Book Club; all participants will receive a FREE copy of the book!
Next Wednesday, November 11th is a SCHOOL DAY even though it is Veteran’s Day; it is NOT a day off. All students are expected to do their online work and/or attend extra help sessions that day.
We have two regular, full days on Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24. Then we have Wednesday, November 25, through Friday, November 27, off for Thanksgiving Break. Enjoy!
