Good Morning  Bridge Middle School Families!

Thank you for your hard work in getting our students online for the NWEA MAP test in math this past Wednesday!

Here are some important things to know:

In order to best instruct and support your children, beginning on Monday, October 26, all students will be required to log into their classes through Google Meets beginning at 7:45 on their “off” days.

This means that Monday/Thursday students will need to log into all classes on Tuesdays and Fridays and  Tuesday/Friday students will need to log into all classes on Mondays and Fridays.

Thanks again for your help in getting kids online and testing over the last two Wednesdays.

Moving forward, students will have assignments on Wednesdays. They must go to their College and Career Readiness Google Classroom and will find their IXL math and reading assignments there.  All assignments are  based on each student’s demonstrated skill need in math and reading.

Thanks again for your help in getting kids online and testing over the last two Wednesdays.

Moving forward, students will have assignments on Wednesdays.  They will need to complete two Achieve3000 assignments OR meet with teachers in Google Meets who want to give them some extra help.

Achieve3000 is a literacy program that assigns articles to students at their “just right” reading level, monitors their reading progress, and adjusts their reading level as they improve.

To access the assigned Achieve3000 articles, students will log into their Guided Reading class in Google Classroom.  They must click CLASSWORK (not the stream) to access the two assigned articles. To earn credit, students must do the assigned articles, not articles that they choose.

Students whose teachers require them to attend two or more Google Meets on Wednesdays are excused from the Achieve3000 assignment for that day.  Students who are required to attend one Google Meets with a teacher must do one Achieve3000 article.

We look forward to seeing you at Wednesday’s Virtual Open House!

At Open House you will get to meet all of your child’s teachers and hear about their classes.  (Please note that we will not be able to take questions about specific students).

We have many great after school activities. In particular, we still have space for our free online violin lessons (we will lend your child a violin for the year). Lessons are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in half hour increments from 4:00 to 6:00.

Also, I am taking names for our next free swim lesson six-week session (Saturdays from 11:00 to 11:30 or 11:30)  and our next Parent Computer Class eight-week session (Tuesdays here at Bridge from 6:00 to 7:00).

Let me know if you or your children are interested in any of our programs!

Speaking of afterschool programs, here is the most recent video from our Media Club:

Please call school in the morning if your child is going to be absent, even if they are fully online.

There is no school this Monday, October 12, for Italian Heritage Day. Enjoy!
