ONE SMALL MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULE CHANGE DURING ONLINE LEARNING

We are making one change to our Middle School schedule. Starting on Monday, November 30, students will not participate in Mathfacts or Independent Reading.  Instead, during that time select students will be chosen to work with teachers to support their learning.

This support/enrichment time is mandatory for those who we have determined would benefit.  This support schedule will remain the same during online learning.

Below is the general class schedule for each grouping.  We will be letting individual students know through email if they need to attend support/enrichment meetings starting this Monday.

Some students also attend specialized reading classes known as Sonday; they know their schedules!

The next session of our Parent Computer Class begins today! The club is held every Tuesday for 7 weeks from 6:00 to 7:00.  You will learn how to use the most important Google functions such as calendar, all of the email features, Google Meets, how to create contact lists, etc.  PARENT COMPUTER CLASS

We are now running the club virtually. All participants who complete the program receive a free chromebook.  Let us know if you would like to join and if you need a chromebook in order to participate; you can swing by school to pick it up.

Please respond to this email ASAP if you are interested in joining!

BOOK CLUB!

Join Us!

Bryan Stevenson: Author of Just Mercy

We are hosting a Book Club for parents, students and staff.  We will be reading the young adult version of the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson.  This book is a memoir detailing the author’s work as a lawyer for inmates on death row.

The New York Times said this about Just Mercy: “The message of this book, hammered home by dramatic examples of one man’s refusal to sit quietly and countenance horror, is that evil can be overcome, a difference can be made.  Just Mercy will make you upset and it will make you hopeful.”

We will discuss the book at a virtual community meeting on Monday, January 4, at 6:00 PM.

Please let me know if you and your child are interested in participating in the Book Club.

All participants receive a FREE copy of the book!

AFTER SCHOOL

The majority of our after school programs are continuing during remote learning.  Interested students should email the teacher in charge of the club to get the meeting link.

Bridge Academy After School Programs: 2020-2021

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Even though we have moved to remote learning, it is still important to know what is going on in our community in terms of Covid transmission.

For this reason, we ask that you continue to inform us if your Bridge Academy student, or anyone in their immediate family, gets a Covid test due to illness or tests positive for Covid.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP

We are here to help students and their families in any way possible.

If you or your child are struggling with anything from academics, food, housing, social emotional well-being or any other area, please reach out myself or Mr. Elliott or to our support staff:

Soledad Meade: Social Worker grades 7-9:  soledad.meade@bridgeacademy.org

Suzanne Obrien: Social Worker grades 10-12: suzanne.obrien@bridgeacademy.org

Thank you and have a great Thanksgiving!
