Our students have been doing a terrific job of persevering through challenges, including remote learning and snow storms; we are proud of them!

Here is the latest Bridge Academy news:

Join our Book Club!  Family members, students and staff are welcome!  Our first book is Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson.  You can come to Bridge next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to pick up a free copy of the book or, if you can’t come in, let me know by Wednesday morning and I will mail you a copy.

It looks as though we may have a member of author Bryan Stevenson’s group, the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), joining our discussion which is very exciting!  So come to the meeting even if you haven’t read the book to hear about the important work EJI is doing.

The Book Club  meeting was originally scheduled for January 4 but we may need to reschedule to accommodate the EJI presenter’s schedule.  Stay tuned!

At the beginning of the year students took the Northwest Evaluation Association Measure of Academic Progress (NWEA MAP) assessments in reading and math.  NWEA is a test that is given to over ten million students across the country every year.  This assessment is given three times a year and allows us to see the progress our students are making.

We are administering the winter test the same way we administered this test in the fall: online on Wednesdays.

  • The Reading test will be given on Wednesday, January 20, from 7:45 till 11:45.
  • The Math test will be given the next Wednesday, January 27, from 7:45 till 11:45.

We appreciate your support in getting your children logged on and ensuring that they have a quiet space in which to work on those days.

Respond to this email if you or your child have any interest in participating in one or more of our amazing after school opportunities for students and parents.
