In Middle School English students use literature to grapple with issues of identity, race, gender, sociology, society, government, and economics. We challenge students to synthesize the deeper meanings of multiple texts, films, and other media, and analyze whether those meanings are communicated effectively. Students develop and refine their skills in crafting clear and concise arguments that are evidence based and persuasive.There is a focus on learning from each other from consistent dialogue and occasional socratic seminars. By the time students leave middle school English they will be far better equipped to make educated decisions by dissecting the information they receive from the inputs of the world around us.

Parents can check that students are doing the required reading to prepare their student for English class the next day.
